Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Specialist
About the job:
The CSIR has a vacancy for two Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Specialist in the Centre for Robotics and Future Production group within the Manufacturing cluster. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, configuring, and adapting PLM systems as well as administration of the system.
About the group:
The group is currently focussing on projects in intelligent manufacturing, PLM system implementation and adaptations thereof, Manufacturing Automation, Robotics and Vision Systems. Outputs and impact are achieved through support of Industry and innovative products delivered to the marketplace.
Key responsibilities:
Execute projects and deliver results on brief on budget and on time;
Interact with peers within fields of expertise both within and outside the CSIR;
Interact with clients (internal and external) and developing long term relationships;
Effective communicate and motivate the team;
Work in a multidisciplinary environment with clients, engineers, scientist, project managers and technicians;
Train staff on PLM;
Support PLM users across the CSIR;
Support clients with PLM implementations.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
A BSc Degree in computer science or relevant engineering degree with at least three years’ experience in applied research environment or in industry;
Experience in the following will be required:
Configuration of PLM systems for product development and manufacturing;
Setting up PLM security;
Setting up engineering change control workflows;
Supporting and maintaining PLM systems;
Manage the various integrations of PLM systems;
Maintaining the licenses and manage the license servers;
Cloud based technologies and applications related to PLM;
Experience in Siemens PLM software would be an advantage,
Good presentation, research and report writing skills
Good computer literacy;
High level conceptualisation and analytical skills;
Problem solving and solution seeking orientation;
Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills;
A goal-oriented approach;
Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
