Sassa Payment Dates For April 2024

The agency announced that Sassa grant payments will be made from the second working day of the month, excluding public holidays and weekends.

  • Older Persons Grant – 3 April 2024
  • Disability Grants – 4 April 2024
  • Children’s Grants – 5 April 2024

Sassa Increase 2024

Beneficiaries of Sassa grants can look forward to a boost to their monthly Sassa payment soon! Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana confirmed an increase to SASSA grants, with the first installment kicking in on 1 April 1st and a second top-up following on 1 October.

War Veterans Grant

The War Veterans Grant will increase by R90 in April and then R10 in October.

Foster Child Grant

The Foster Care Grant will only have one increase of R50 in April.

Child Support Grant

The Child support grant will only have one increase of R20 in April.

Disability Grant

The Disability grant will have an increase of R90 in April. There will be another small increase in the Disability Grant of R10 in October.

R350 SRD Grant

SRD grant beneficiaries will begin receiving R370 from 1 April 2024. This means that the R350 grant is being increased by R20 or 5.7%.

Permanent Sassa grants are paid to approximately 18 million people every month while the SRD grant is paid to approximately 9 million people living in South Africa every month.
